No accounts. No analytics. No advertising.

The transactions you enter are stored on your device and are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. We cannot see your portfolio.

What CryptoSnap stores on your device

Everything you enter stays in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad: the coin, quantity, rate, fee and total of each transaction, its currency, date, whether it was a buy or a sell, and the exchange name you typed. Your display-currency choice, a cached list of coins and cached price history are kept alongside it so the app works quickly and offline. Your portfolio totals are also written to a private storage area shared with the CryptoSnap home-screen widget and Siri shortcuts, so they can show the same figures.

None of this is transmitted to us. We operate no server and hold no copy of your data.

What is sent over the internet

CryptoSnap contacts exactly one outside service: CoinGecko, for market prices and price history. Those requests contain the identifiers of the coins in your portfolio (for example "bitcoin"), the currency codes you display, the date range of a chart you open, and our API key.

Those requests do not contain how much you hold, what you paid, your profit or loss, the exchanges you named, your name, your email address, or any identifier for you or your device.

As with any request to any website, CoinGecko receives your device's IP address, and the coin identifiers we send reveal which coins you follow โ€” not how much of them you own. CoinGecko's handling of that request is governed by their own privacy policy. No other server is contacted by the app.

No tracking, no profiling

CryptoSnap contains no analytics, no crash-reporting service, no advertising identifier and no third-party tracking code of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is measured, profiled, sold or shared, and no data is collected for tracking as Apple defines it. There is no sign-in, because there is no account.

Unlocking the app

If your device has a passcode set, CryptoSnap asks for Face ID, Touch ID or that passcode when it opens; on a device with no passcode it opens directly. This uses Apple's standard authentication and happens entirely on your device: your biometric data is never available to CryptoSnap and never leaves your iPhone or iPad. The app is told only whether the attempt succeeded.

Backups you create

The backup feature writes your transactions to a file and hands it to the iOS share sheet, where you choose what happens to it โ€” save it to Files, AirDrop it, mail it to yourself. Nothing is uploaded automatically and the file never passes through us. Once you send that file somewhere, it is covered by the privacy policy of wherever you sent it. Restoring reads a file you pick and replaces the transactions in the app.

Payments

CryptoSnap does not ask for or process any payment details. Should paid features be offered in future, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple and we never see your payment information.

Removing your data

You can delete any transaction in the app. Deleting CryptoSnap from your device removes its database, its cached prices and the data shared with the widget. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for you to request from us and nothing for us to delete.

Children

CryptoSnap is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone, regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data handling changes, this page changes with it and the date below is updated.
